Do you sense sacarsm in my heading. I felt quite embarassed doing CIP initially, but not anymore :) Teamed up with a group of really hysterical mates. Mervin, Qizhi, Andrew, Hanrui and my Teddybear Xiaoxuan. Btw, HQ was at BMC, some clowny underground place. Grabbed the tin after the solemn briefing (lol) and rushed off to Outram Mrt Station. Kinda regretted la, could have gone to richer places like Raffles Place, Holland V, Ikea, Tanjong Pagar or Redhill and Tiong Bahru Mrt(s). But of ALL the nice choices, we had to choose Outram, partly to compromise the large membership we had. Wasted all our time deciding where to go, and crap. Then walked as a group of 6 idiots selling THAI TOMYAM Twisties (OMG!) and at first, business was quite bad cause of the bitching flag day freaks from sec5, so naturally people would associate us with them and keep showing us that stupid sticker on their shirt. HALLO, we're helping the TSUNAMI VICTIMS, and they're not, so which is more impt, you tell me. Got soo irritated by rejections, that the boys almost gave up, so they all sat in the mrt station while xiaoxuan went to strike it out on her own and alot of people gave her money, okay gave the tin, not her. =), boys are useless. lol. Splitted up into 3,3 for 5 mins and decided to get back together cause a team always works best together! Paced the entire chinatown, cold and quiet, like aftermath of war, up and down before the crowd started appearing and that was the turning point. Persuaded mervin to seduce girls to donate, instead, he scared a girl and she jumped and bloody andrewshit was imitating her freaked-out act, till she gave a few cents and mervin was stunned and looked dejected. LOL! Everyone had a chance to go around with the tin except qizhi, who prefered to do the labour work, that is carrying twisties. Walked and laughed at all different kinds of stupid excuses and we were constantly pushed by the boys to ask others to donate but we simply refused. =) hehe. Anyway, we gradually dispersed and unknowingly split up on our own. Mervin, Qizhi and I. Xiaoxuan, Drew and Rui. The funniest excuse we heard was "Oh, I'll be flying to Sri Lanka tonight to help the tsunami victims, sorry." To believe or not, you decide. LoL. We [Mervin qizhi, me] had a new strategy, we just had to shut our mouths and stand by the street and give that poor thing face. Surprisingly, people started to give us money on their own accord. Then thanks to drew's dumb act, mervin got an inspiration and took out a blank piece of paper, with the help of qizhi's marker and my "beautiful handwriting", we wrote, "TSUNAMI RELIEF FUNDS" (cause we only had ONE of that printed paper), with that piece of paper constantly being held up by qizhi, we soon had MORE and MORE people coming to us with alot of money! But they all rejected our twisties when they donated (so we had alot left), but that's no wonder why, cause its a disgusting flavour with a disgusting taste. Made use of the marker and wrote all sorts of rubbish everywhere we could, and some really old/gangsterous (surprisingly) /couples/kind people donated quite a sum to us, partly due to the fact that we're students. HELPFUL ones. =) HEHEHE. lol. And there was this really funny one where the girlfriend just pulled out a $5 note out of her boyfriends wallet and put it into the tin, then he looked so upset. LOL! Took a few pictures for memorial and evidence (like, don't know for what) and we truly had lotsa fun from asking to being desperates, and meeting lotsa competitor on the way but we were the only special ones that were helping the tsunami thing. =) had a really really fun day, laughed alot on the way back to HQ to open that breakable and tempting tin and return the left over twisties. Earned a total of about $140 or so. Left that place, took a 2 hour bus journey to Changi Airport to read/eat with XX. I've had so much fun doing CIP today, esp with that group of supportive, "nice", funny and some initiative boys (however, they kept stopping to buy drinks) , nevertheless, still quite regretted going to outram which we ultimately named it "heartless district". LOL. no offence. Stupid teddy kept taking pictures of airplanes taking off, and sceneries, but I'm excited to look at our group picture! Well, yesterday's lesson, today's regret and get over it. My pride had brought me too much unhappiness. There could be nothing left for me to prove anymore. But anyway, thank you Maisy, Maiosy, Fish, Sunzi, Vicky, Bini, Bina, Patricia, Charlene and esp Neng the counsellor and everyone else I might not have realised. =)
